The Minister for Tourism, Christian Santos, along with the Minister for the Environment, Dr. John Cortes, welcomed 27 agents from the Agencias de Viajes Asociadas de Andalucía (AEDAV) to Gibraltar. This visit aimed to strengthen ties between Gibraltar and the Andalusian travel sector, showcasing the unique offerings of the region.
The AEDAV network encompasses over 85 travel agencies, making this gathering a significant opportunity for collaboration. During their time in Gibraltar, the agents were introduced to the diverse attractions the territory has to offer, from its rich history to its stunning natural landscapes.
Discussions also centered around sustainable tourism practices, emphasizing the importance of balancing visitor experiences with environmental preservation. Both ministers highlighted the potential for growth in tourism, encouraging the agents to promote Gibraltar as a prime destination for their clients. This initiative marks a step towards fostering stronger relationships and enhancing tourism opportunities between Gibraltar and Andalusia.
