TEHRAN – A significant partnership has been established between the Department of Environment (DOE) and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts through a newly signed four-year memorandum of understanding (MOU). This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in efforts to preserve the environment while promoting sustainable tourism practices across the country.
The MOU outlines various initiatives designed to protect natural resources and cultural heritage, ensuring that tourism development aligns with environmental conservation goals. Both entities recognize the importance of sustainable tourism as a means to boost the economy while safeguarding the ecological balance and cultural identity.
By working together, the DOE and the tourism ministry plan to implement educational programs, conduct research, and develop strategies that foster responsible tourism. This collaboration is expected to attract eco-conscious travelers and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Iran's diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage, ultimately benefiting local communities and the nation's economy.
