eYAA backs tourism, climate resilience

Young Filipinos are set to take the lead in tourism development and climate resilience initiatives under the ASEAN-supported eYAA program. The initiative aims to create livelihood opportunities while strengthening disaster preparedness across local communities.

The program focuses on empowering youth to design and implement projects that boost sustainable tourism and address climate-related challenges. By combining these two areas, the eYAA program hopes to build a generation of leaders who can drive economic growth while protecting vulnerable areas from environmental risks.

Participants will receive training and support to develop small-scale tourism ventures, such as eco-tours and cultural heritage activities, that generate income for their communities. At the same time, they will work on climate resilience measures, including early warning systems, reforestation efforts, and disaster response planning.
