Twenty-two representatives from the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines Membership Program traveled to La Union from November 5 to 7, 2025, to enhance their commitment to sustainable tourism through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. This initiative aimed to engage local communities while promoting environmental conservation and responsible travel practices.
During their visit, the TPB members participated in beach clean-up drives, tree planting activities, and workshops designed to educate the community about the importance of sustainable tourism. These efforts not only aimed to preserve La Union's natural beauty but also sought to empower local residents by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to benefit from tourism in a sustainable manner.
The representatives emphasized that sustainable tourism is crucial for the long-term viability of local economies and ecosystems. Their hands-on approach in La Union serves as a model for other regions, showcasing the potential for collaboration between tourism stakeholders and local communities in fostering a more sustainable future.
