Hotels and tour operators are starting to offer more flexible cancellation policies tied to weather alerts. Some destinations are investing in shade structures, cooling centers, and better drainage systems.

For travelers, the message is simple: planning a trip now involves looking at the forecast, not just for the week of the trip, but for the season. The survey suggests that this careful approach is here to stay, as people try to balance their desire to see the world with the reality of a changing climate.
